A Sharon Education Foundation Grant Funded Project
In Art class, after reading the book Tar Beach by Faith Ringgold, students drew and painted a multi-layered city. They photographed their painting using the iPads. Next, they used the app SketchbookX to create a figure of themselves in a flying position. After their figure was created and saved, they used the Keynote app and imported both their painting and their figure. Finally, they animated their figure flying over their imported city, just as the main character does in the book. We used Aurasma and their original artwork to create an Augmented Reality trigger (Aura) using their figure as the overlay. The original cityscapes will be displayed at the Art Show and the flying figure can be viewed using a smart phone or tablet.
